The VA San Diego Healthcare Systems has a new MRI research study for OEF/OIF/OND combat Veterans. Our study investigates a new brain imaging technique that may be sensitive to the brain differences in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI). Your participation may help researchers and clinicians learn more about brain changes in PTSD and mTBI and develop better tools for the diagnosis of these disorders.
Participation includes two study visits during which you will undergo an MRI brain scan and assessments of your thinking and mood. You can receive up to $100 for completion of the study. You do NOT need to have a history of PTSD or mTBI to participate. Participation is always voluntary.
You may qualify of you are 18-50 years old, served in Iraq or Afghanistan, and are safe for MRI. If interested, please contact the study coordinator at 858-552-8585 ext. 2608.
